Recognition from Germans means a lot :)

Couple months back I was in Munich for my business trip for Allianz Germany. It was a great time as I learned a lot of things. One of the good memories was watching Fast and Furious 7 which was a memorable movie to watch overseas and attending Fruhlingsfest, the Spring festival.

After 6 weeks of travel, I came back to India and back working in the office. It was a normal day and I was not aware what was going on with the management. Suddenly our 150 people team distribution list kicks in and we get a email from our PMO regarding the first ATF (Allianz Test Factory) Newsletter around lunch 1247hrs. Most of us went to lunch and were not aware of it at the moment, however some people who went for lunch a bit late read that email.

I came from lunch and then then read the email, which I usually do instantly once I hit the computer after a break, and I was amazed that there was an ATF newsletter being started and it was the first ever ATF newsletter that was being written for the team. I was amazed that I was being recognized as one of the people worthy enough to be mentioned, which I never had imagined and was not even expecting as I was not in mood of continuing the job. I had already promised the management to transition my responsibilities to another colleague after which I would be leaving the organization and I was in the transition stage of moving out of the organization.

I must say I was amazed that my German manager had written an appreciation email for me which I was not expecting, I was amazed and surprised, however not so happy as I was bound to complete my responsibilities before I depart and there were a lot of things I had to transition. Not many people knew that I had already communicated the management to leave the project and eventually the organization soon but the work was big and time taking, I was purely dedicated to create another of my backup who would then manage everything on my behalf would help me in getting out of the company soon. The appreciation email was however an encouragement for me to complete my responsibilities soon and coming from Germans means a lot 🙂
