Munich it is :)
I was on Mumbai International Airport for travelling for the first time and was too excited and a bit anxious at the same time. My flight was on 21st March, Saturday at 0130 IST, however I reached early as my family was also travelling from Surat to greet me on the airport. I started from around 1530 IST attending office half day on Friday. and my family had started from Surat much earlier. I reached around 1930hrs in the evening where my family was already waiting for me. We met and I had some food and then we went for the entrance to click some photos.
When we reached near the entrance, we got to know that the Lufthansa pilots were on strike and my flight from Mumbai to Munich was cancelled and the next day the flight from Mumbai to Frankfurt was cancelled. My Mother was unhappy to see these situations when I was travelling for the first time internationally. I called my organization and they told to approach airlines counter for further information. We approached the security and they told, they can allow me inside but if I come out due to any reasons, then I would not be allowed to go inside. Then after telling my family to go home, I went inside and had a conversation with the airlines executive, I told them about the urgency to travel. They told me the direct flight to Munich is cancelled, however they can book me to an alternative flight Mumbai – Frankfurt – Munich which was scheduled at the same time 0130 IST and I boarded the flight.
However after boarding the flight, were weren`t given clearance for takeoff which lasted for 3hrs inside the airplane stuck on the jet bridge. Finally at 0430 IST we got clearance and we started flying towards Frankfurt. I was anxious as my Frankfurt to Munich flight was also at a 3hrs time delay and was thinking what if my Mumbai flight reaches late, would I be able to catch my Munich flight? This thought was going in my mind for hours and then finally we reached Frankfurt. In a hurry I started running towards the terminal just to know that my gate number for next flight was changed. I then went to immigration, had my security checks and finally boarded my flight to Munich. I was a great experience flying international and then local at the same time and finally I reached Munich. I had a cab hired to get me to the hotel which took me from the highway. It was the first time I saw such a great road and the driver was driving at insanely 180-190kmph which I would never ever had thought. Finally I reached my hotel and my room and was very happy to settle down after calling my family that I had reached safely. 🙂
