I was a die hard F1 fan since childhood. I still remember all the races…..Practice Sessions (Friday), Qualifies (Saturday) and Final Race (Sunday) all at 1630hrs IST and used to be jam packed in front of television all times. There were many people whom I always admired in the sport like Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher, David Coulthard, Kimi Raikonnen, Mika Hakkinen, Nico Rosberg, Ralph Schumacher…..all the teams like Mclaren Mercedes, Ferrari, Williams BMW and all.

One day some of my friends planned for a movie called “Rush” which I was totally unaware of the plot and the idea of the movie. When I saw the movie I was totally amazed and excited as it was on the idea of Formula 1 and was based on the real life of 2 champions who used to exist in 1991, before I started watching F1. The real life of Niki Lauda and James Hunt the 2 champs, it was not only the real story but also there was a moral behind it that ‘RUSH’ in real life leads to so bad consequences.

It starts from F3 races where Niki Lauda from Austria and James Hunt from Britain came along as competitors and then emerged as champions and rivals all along their journey towards Formula 1 races. It shows how Niki had an accident while racing hard during rains and understanding that even racing has its limits and there should be a demarcation between putting effort in your passion and actually putting your life on the line for it. After sometime Niki and James became good friends and Niki tried to tell James about the consequences of going fast in life and RUSHing towards all the bad habits of drinking, smoking and drugs. James was in full flow of his life and didn`t take the advice of Niki and died of heart attack.

It has always been taken into consideration that speed driving, drinking, smoking and drugs lead to death and nothing else…..Niki tried to tell the same to James and then the final realization where James died of heart attack. I would request all of you that please see this movie and stay away from these things and stay happy, coz not only you will be happy but your family and friends will also be happy when you live a good life….. 🙂
